Adria Duijvesteijn is the Senior Director of External Relations and Strategic Initiatives at Salem State University (SSU). She joined the campus community in July of 2003 in the university’s marketing and communications office. Adria transitioned to the President’s Office in 2007 and has been overseeing the university’s external relations there since 2012. Adria’s portfolio includes the oversight and management of the university's external partnerships related to federal, state, and regional government relations; economic and community development; and neighborhood relations; paying particular attention to growing and enhancing positive relationships that serve SSU students, the greater university community, City of Salem, North Shore region and the Commonwealth. Prior to her arrival at SSU, Adria worked in advertising and marketing for two years.

Adria holds a MEd in elementary education from Salem State University and a BA in psychology from Bates College. She serves on the board of directors for the Boston North Cancer Association and Citizens Inn and is a member of the Salem Rotary Club, serving as president from 2020-2021.

Originally from Lynn, Massachusetts, Adria lives in Salem with her husband, Olle. In her downtime, she enjoys baking, painting, and spending time with family and friends.
