Sarah van Gulden serves as the Priest-in-Charge (PIC) at Trinity Episcopal Church and Executive Director of Urban Bridges, Inc. both located in Haverhill, MA. Urban Bridges, Inc. is a new 501.c3 non-profit created to serve as the vehicle for Trinity’s community ministries for children and women. In 2019 Sarah joined these organizations to lead long-term strategic planning. From 2014-2017 Sarah served as the Assistant to the Rector at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Lynn, MA. During her three years Sarah organized parishioners to create social justice cohorts including the Beloved Community Team and the BeYou LGBTQ+ Community Youth Group. Before being ordained an Episcopal priest, Sarah taught in public pre-schools with special needs students.

For the past 8 years Sarah has lived in Rockport with her husband, the Reverend Derek van Gulden and their very spoiled cat, Tux. Derek serves as the Pastor of First Congregational Church, Rockport. Sarah and Derek enjoy baking and birding and Sarah is training for her first 5K.

Sarah received her B.A in English/French Literature from Connecticut College. She graduated from the Episcopal Divinity School with a Master’s of Divinity and was ordained to the priesthood in 2015.
