Executive Director

Project LEARN

LZ Nunn is the Executive Director of Project LEARN, a nonprofit organization that leverages resources and strategic partnerships for the Lowell Public Schools. Since 2015, LZ has helped secure nearly $10 million for innovative programs ranging from early childhood and after school STEM enrichment to career pathways, Early College, and community engagement. Before joining Project LEARN, LZ served as the Development Director for the Greater Lowell Community Foundation. From 2005-2012, LZ held the position of Executive Director of the Cultural Organization of Lowell/Cultural Affairs & Special Events office for the City of Lowell where she coordinated city-wide cultural events and festivals, and spearheaded fundraising and marketing initiatives.

Originally from Seattle, Washington, LZ has lived in the Lowell area for over 15 years with her husband, Paul, and their daughter, Zana Lee (9), and two cats (James and Li’l Smokey). When not at work, or keeping pace with her daughter’s social calendar, you’ll find her cycling, gardening, or reading a good book in the sun.

LZ graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in English Literature, and also holds an M.F.A from Emerson College in Creative Nonfiction Writing. She completed a Loeb Fellowship at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design in 2013.
