City of Lynn

Drew Russo is the Personnel Director for the City of Lynn where he has served since 2019. , During his tenure, the City has made significant strides toward building a workforce reflective of Lynn’s diversity, streamlined Human Resources practices, and increased communication with the public about employment opportunities and the city’s hiring process. Prior to his appointment, Drew served four years as Executive Director of the Lynn Museum/LynnArts organization where he enhanced the institution's reputation as a cross-cultural hub for community activity and built a robust fundraising program. Other highlights of Drew's professional career include having directed in-district operations for former U.S. Representative John F. Tierney and serving as Assistant Director of Advancement and Director of Alumni Relations at St. Mary's High School.

Drew is a member of several non-profit boards including the Lynn Community Health Center, Camp Fire North Shore, Lynn Main Streets, and Lynn Shore Rest Home, and serves his Lynn community as a member of the Board of Park Commissioners. In 2020, he was elected to the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee for the Third Essex District, and served as a delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

A graduate of Saint Michael's College in Vermont (B.A. in English Literature and Political Science), Drew completed a year of post-graduate service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Detroit, Michigan. He is currently a candidate in the Masters of Public Administration-Senior Leadership Program at Clark University with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023.

Drew and his wife Patricia Ridge live in Lynn’s Pine Hill neighborhood. He enjoys running and walking Lynn’s trails from the beach to Lynn Woods and the newly extended Northern Strand Community Path, and experiences the joys and frustrations of being a lifelong Red Sox fan.
