Cameron, Sharon

Director of Public Health

City of Peabody

Sharon Cameron has been the Director of Public Health for the City of Peabody since 2005, where she oversees the City’s food safety, environmental compliance, communicable disease prevention, public health emergency preparedness, and school nursing programs. Prior to joining the City of Peabody, Sharon spent 14 years with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Environmental Health. Her professional focus has been on increasing access to medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare for all.

Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard College and a Master in Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

A lifelong resident of the North Shore, Sharon is happiest when she’s near the ocean with her husband Bob and children Hayley and Theo. She loves to play pickleball and bluegrass banjo, both with a great degree of mediocrity.
