Peabody Essex Museum

Leveille (Lev) McClain is the Ward 4 Councilor of the Salem City Council and serves on the Government Services, Community & Economic Development, and Administration & Finance Committees. He is also a security professional of 17 years and the Associate Director of Security at the Peabody Essex Museum, where he steers electronic security and security personnel development, and formerly served as chair of the museum’s Equity Task Force.

Leveille proudly volunteers as a mentor with Diocesan Youth Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. He strives to support equity, self-determination and compassion in all his work.

Councilor McClain holds a B.A. in English from Salem State University.
Leveille was born and raised in Lynn and still lives nearby in the Witchcraft Heights neighborhood of Salem with his lovely and brilliant wife Carly, three amazing kids, and one very needy cat. In his rare spare time you can catch him dancing to live music, enjoying a cocktail with friends, or finishing a jigsaw puzzle after the rest of his house has gone to sleep.
